A NEW APPROACH TO PARKING

Starting late 2023, the County of Maui will launch “PARK MAUI,” its new parking management program that strives to implement data-driven solutions for parking at beach parks, in business districts, and on streets throughout our island’s most heavily utilized areas. The project’s goals are to:

  • Improve access to beach parks for residents as a free recreational experience
  • Improve turnover of cars on-street to increase access to businesses in town
  • Create affordable long-term parking options for employees
  • Prevent spillover of business parking into residential neighborhoods
  • Improve safety in parking areas and neighborhood business districts
  • Generate revenue to maintain parking operations, educate visitors, offer public transit alternatives, and protect sensitive cultural and environmental sites.

We encourage you to learn more about PARK MAUI and to stay engaged in helping to shape the future of parking management in Maui. Together, we can create a more accessible and enjoyable experience for everyone.
