The PARK MAUI pilot phase is anticipated to generate funds that will be used to support program operations.  Moving forward, any surplus revenue from paid parking and parking permits will be deposited into a set-aside, parking revenue fund.  Revenues from the program can be reinvested back into community facilities and operations, benefiting the local neighborhoods where the parking fees were collected.

‍How it works:

Once PARK MAUI operational costs have been fully met, any surplus monies within the fund could be applied to the following uses:

• Maintaining or improving County parks
• Expanding and enhancing public transportation, pedestrian, and bike infrastructure or programs
• Improving safety, wayfinding or maintenance of neighborhood business districts

• Protecting and/or acknowledging sensitive cultural and environmental sites.
